About Us

Volunteer Connections is a service of the Nonprofit Resource Center at Franklin College.

Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution in Johnson County. The campus is 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. Our mission is “Franklin College shall attain excellence as a personal, participatory, values-focused, career-sensitive, liberal arts teaching and learning undergraduate community. The college shall motivate and prepare its graduates for productive and satisfying lives of excellence, leadership and service.”

The college prepares men and women for significant careers through the liberal arts, offering 50 major tracks including biology, business, education, and journalism. The college was the first institution of higher education in Indiana to admit women and maintains a voluntary association with the American Baptist Churches USA. There are currently 1,018 full-time enrolled students representing 17 states and 3 nations. Franklin has maintained a student body that is 50 percent male and 50 percent female.
